Urban intervention

Mapping of selected site for proposal of my own response to the brief 'Urban Intervention'.

Layered geometric drawings

These layered drawings demonstrate my own language within my work and it is clear that geometric shapes (particularly triangles) are apparent to my eye.

Triangular shapes and space

I enjoy using triangles in my work. I find it interesting working with a shape that is not traditionally used when designing a space. The work of Zaha Hadid and Pierro Lissoni has encouraged me to include triangles in my work.

3D Model making

Small scale models of an experimental idea for temporary advertising structures.

3D Foam Models

These models were inspired by geometric shapes from the drawings on the worksheet entitled 'Ideas 1'.

Seating system with the addition of ideas for upholstery

More ideas for a seat and placing the idea into a specific environment. I played around with samples of fabrics worked up using various layers such as silk, latex, netting, denim, and cotton, concentrating on design/pattern, colour and texture. This helped me move forward when deciding how to upholster the chair and push myself in order to develop the idea further.

Seating system

Working towards a final idea for a type of seating system.

Ideas 2

Ideas for products to be placed in an interior space, with emphasis on triangles. These include a ceiling light design (top right) and a staircase (mid-left).

Ideas 1

Ideas for products and research into geometric shapes.
Bottom image is detailed views and dimensions for a proposed extension for a bungalow. The two top images consist of a detailed view of the floors and a plan view of the ground floor of The National Theatre.

3D Model making

Playing around with and, pushing ideas from initial prompt (matches) and creating 3D-models.
